Some elements of the terrorist group Boko Haram have been killed in an airstrike by the Nigerian army.
According to Defense Headquarters, Operation Lafiya Dole Air Task Force eliminated several Boko Haram terrorists who were hiding in the Njimia and Dure areas of the Sambisa forest in Borno state.
Coordinator, Defense Media Operation, Major General. John Enenche said this in a statement Thursday. He noted that the army continued to be successful in its air campaigns against insurgents in the northeast.
Enenche said the raid was carried out on Tuesday after a series of aerial surveillance missions showed a resurgence of terrorist activities at the sites. Attack aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) engaged the locations.
“The NAF planes received devastating hits from their successive bombs and rockets, which resulted in the destruction of terrorist structures and the neutralization of several BHTs.” The Nigerian Armed Forces will not cease until all enemies of the nation are neutralized and normalcy is restored to all conflict areas. “ Enenche added.
