The Delta State Police Command said Sunday that it has begun a search for those responsible for the killings in recent days in the metropolis of Ughelli, home to the Ughelli North local government area in Delta state.
State Police Public Relations Officer Onome Onowakpoyeya, while speaking about the incidents, also revealed that the area police are monitoring the situation in the area.
The police image maker who also confirmed the incidents said that after the EndSARS protest, the police are currently under “observation” except when heinous crimes are committed.
She said: “We are looking for the main suspects involved in the incidents, but for now, we are under observation as a result of the EndSARS protest.”
When asked what steps are being taken to stop the killings in the area, he said: “Unless something serious happens like these murder cases you just mentioned, we are under observation.
“But all I can tell you is that we are currently searching for the perpetrators behind the attacks, and I assure you they will be brought to the book.”
