Southampton defender Jannick Vestergaard has said he would like to be captain of the club and the country.
Vestergaard is currently with Denmark this international week.
He said: “It’s natural for me to take responsibility and I always work in the best interests of the team.
“I enjoyed being captain in my time in the U21 team and I was already a deputy captain at Hoffenheim.
“So if one day he leads me to a captain’s armband, then I’ll be proud.”
